Karolina Ołownia is a Polish visual artist working across painting, performance, video art, sculpture, costume, and scenography.

Her practice explores the relationship between the body, memory, transformation, and identity. Drawing from painting, theatre, and contemporary visual arts, she creates interdisciplinary works in which image, material, movement, and space become interconnected elements of a single artistic language.

Painting remains at the core of her practice, while performance and moving image allow her to expand these explorations into physical and immersive experiences. Alongside her artistic work, she designs and creates large-scale costumes, sculptural forms, and spatial environments, developing projects that blur the boundaries between body, object, and performance.

A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Ołownia has collaborated on film, theatre, fashion, and virtual reality productions while continuing to develop her independent artistic practice. Through painting, installation, performance, and moving image, she creates works that balance between reality and illusion, intimacy and spectacle, vulnerability and transformation.
